Canva Connect: Open for Inspection Templates & Automation Settings

This guide outlines how to set up and automate your Open for Inspection (OFI) templates in Canva, Properti, specifically focusing on Facebook and Instagram Feed, as well as Facebook and Instagram Stories.

Using Canva Connect Template for Open for Inspection Video

If you're using a template you have created in Canva for an OFI video, it's important to understand the current limitations:

What Is Supported: Single Listing Video

  • You can create per-listing story content, where each listing generates a separate post or story.

  • You can display multiple inspection times per listing using the Inspection Time Multiple function in your automation setup.

What Isn't Supported: Multiple Listing Video

  • No scene repetition is possible. You cannot dynamically create or duplicate a scene for each listing.

  • Per-listing customisation is not supported within a single video. The number of scenes is fixed.

  • Listing scenes/pages cannot repeat based on how many listings are included.

Recommended Template Structure using Still Image (for Stories or Feed Posts)

For showcasing your upcoming Open Homes on Facebook Posts, Instagram Posts Instagram Stories or Facebook Stories, you can follow this structure:

1. Intro Card (Template 1)

  • A standalone Canva design template

Facebook Posts: 1080x1080 (square), 1080x1350 (portrait) or 1920x1080 (landscape)
    Facebook Stories: 1080x1920(story)
Instagram Posts: 1080x1350 (to support the grid change)
    Instagram Stories: 1080x1920(story)

  • Use a general title such as “This Weekend’s Open Homes”

2. Listing Template

  • A standalone Canva design template (reference above dimensions for your creative) for the listing that displays the listing address, listing images, bed/bath/car, agent information and time & date of the inspection. If you would like multiple inspection times to display for the listing, include this on the design template.
  • When importing the template to Properti and completing the dynamic autofill, use the Inspection Time Multiple function
  • Use “One Image Per Listing” setting in your schedule automation setup

  • Pulls in image, address, and multiple inspection times using the Inspection Time Multiple function

  • Each listing generates its own story or post

3. End Card (Template 2)

  • Another standalone Canva design  template (reference above dimensions for your creative)

  • Include a call to action such as:
“Find all open home times at www.yoursite.com”

Automation Output Example:

[Intro Card] ➝ [Listing 1] ➝ [Listing 2] ➝ … ➝ [End Card]

Optional Simpler Setup

If you don’t want to include intro and end cards:

  • Use just the listing template

  • Each listing will output its own creative, still using Inspection Time Multiple to show all upcoming OFIs for the single listing.
