Error When Boosting Existing Facebook Post

If you encounter an error while trying to boost an existing Facebook post through Properti, you're not alone. This issue can happen even when everything else — including budget, duration, and targeting — appears to go through correctly. One common symptom is seeing “No preview available” during the campaign setup, followed by an error once published.

What’s the issue?

Boosting an existing Facebook post directly via the Properti platform can sometimes result in campaign errors. This is typically due to Facebook rejecting the post behind the scenes — often without giving a clear reason.

✅ Recommended Solution

Instead of boosting the original post, we recommend the following workaround for a more reliable setup:

1. Upload the Creative Directly to Properti

  • Go to the Campaigns tab in Properti.

  • Click Create New Campaign.

  • Choose your desired template and objective.

  • Upload the image or video you'd like to promote (this can be the same content as your original post).

2. Set Up and Launch the Campaign

  • Complete the campaign details: targeting, budget, and duration.

  • Review the preview — this should now display properly.

  • Click Publish.

This method creates a new ad rather than attempting to boost an existing page post, significantly reducing the chance of Facebook-related errors.

Why boosting existing posts can fail

Facebook may reject boosts for a number of unclear or inconsistent reasons, such as:

  • The original post’s settings not being eligible for advertising

  • Meta detecting missing or conflicting permissions

  • Technical issues in post metadata

  • Page/post not properly connected with the Meta Business integration

These issues aren't always visible from your end but can disrupt campaign publishing.

Tips to Avoid Errors

  • Always ensure the Facebook Page and Instagram account are properly connected under Apps > Meta in Properti.

  • Confirm that the user publishing the ad has admin access to:

    • The Properti Portfolio

    • The Facebook Page

    • The Instagram Account

  • Refresh your Meta connection if the issue persists.
