      How to Check and Change Your Instagram Account Type to Professional Account

      To successfully connect to Properti, your Instagram must be a Professional Account. Here are updated step-by-step instructions to check and change your account type.

      Checking Your Instagram Account Type

      1. Log in to Instagram: Open the Instagram app on your mobile device and log into your account.

      2. Go to Your Profile: Tap on your profile picture in the bottom right corner.

      3. Access Settings and Privacy: Tap the three horizontal lines (menu) in the top right corner and select "Settings and Privacy."

      4. Navigate to Account Type and Tools:

        • Scroll down and tap "Account Type and Tools."

        • Here, you will see whether your account is set as a Personal, Business, or Creator account.

        • If your account is already set as a Professional account, there will be a "Business" tab in the settings.

        • If it is a Creator account, you will see an option to "Switch to Professional Account."

       Changing Your Instagram Account Type

      1. Follow Steps 1-4 from the section above to navigate to "Account Type and Tools."

      2. Select "Switch Account Type":

        • If you want to switch to a Business account, select "Switch to Business Account."

        • If you want to switch to a Creator account, select "Switch to Creator Account."

      3. Follow the Prompts: Instagram will guide you through the setup, which may include selecting a category and linking to a Facebook Page (if applicable).

      4. Confirm Your Selection: Once completed, your account type will be updated, and settings such as music options may change accordingly.

      Important Notes

      • Music Availability: Business accounts often have limited access to music options due to licensing restrictions.

      • Content & Features: Some features, such as monetization and insights, vary depending on the selected account type.

      • Frequent Updates: Instagram updates its settings often, so if these steps do not match your current app interface, check their official help center for the latest guidance. 

      If you experience any issues, you may need to contact Instagram Support or revisit your settings to ensure the correct account type is applied.
