How to Regain Access to Your Meta Business Portfolio/Facebook Page

If you lost access to your Meta Business Portfolio and need to regain it, follow these steps.

The process typically requires assistance from an existing Meta Business Portfolio admin or submitting documentation to Meta to verify your request.

Option 1: Request Access from a current Meta Business Portfolio Admin

The quickest and easiest way to regain access to your Meta Business Portfolio is to ask a current Business Portfolio Admin to add you as a user.

To have an admin add you to the Business Portfolio:

  1. Ask the current Business Portfolio Admin to:
    • Log into Business Settings in Meta Business Portfolio.
    • Navigate to People under Meta Business Portfolio Settings.
    • Click "Add new person" and follow the prompts to add you to the Meta Business Portfolio

This will grant you access to the Meta Business Portfolio without needing to go through additional verification processes. However, keep in mind that if you’ve lost access because you were removed from the BM, or if the admin is unavailable, you may need to follow the alternative process outlined below.

Option 2: Request Access Through Meta’s Support

If there is no current BM Admin available, or if the above option doesn’t work, you'll need to request access from Meta Support. This process requires providing certain documentation to verify your identity and business relationship.

To request access, you’ll need to provide:

  1. A Valid Photo ID of the Requestor:
Ensure you have a valid government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport). You can find more details on the types of IDs accepted by Facebook in their Help Center:
    Facebook Accepted IDs.
  2. A Signed Statement with the Following Information:
    • a) Your Relationship to the Business: Describe your role or connection to the Business (e.g., owner, employee) and why you have the authority to request access.
    • b) Explanation of Your Request: Include details about whether there has been a termination of employment or business relationship with any individuals involved with the Business Manager, if applicable.

Here's a guide to what you should request -

“I am the business owner of 'Your Office'. I no longer have access to my business page or to the business portfolio that owns my page. Could you please identify the current owner and transfer ownership to me?”

  • c) Ad Account Information: Provide the following:
    • The total of the last three invoices on the Business's ad accounts.
    • The last 4 digits of the credit card associated with the Business Manager and the expiration date.
  • d) Declaration of Accuracy: Your statement must include a declaration confirming that the information you’ve provided is true and accurate. An example declaration is:

"I certify that the information provided is true and accurate."

Important Notes:

  • Page Removal Requests: If you’re looking to remove a Facebook Page from the Business Manager, please note that requests to remove a Facebook Page will be automatically denied by Meta.
  • One Admin Only: Once your request is processed, only one admin will be added to the Business Manager. The newly added admin will be responsible for managing and granting access to other users.
  • Additional Requests: After submitting the required documentation, Meta may follow up with additional requests for information. Please keep an eye on your email for any further instructions.
  • Signed Statement: If the statement is not signed, or if it does not include a declaration that the information is true and accurate, Meta will not proceed with your request.
