Video Editing and Uploading in Properti

Overview

Properti allows you to upload and schedule videos for social media. However, the platform does not include built-in video editing tools. Any edits such as adding music, muting audio, trimming clips, or adjusting formats must be completed before uploading your video to Properti.

This guide outlines how to properly prepare your video content for smooth uploading and posting, along with updated Instagram time limits for Stories and Reels.

Video Editing Features in Properti

Properti does not support video editing features such as:

• Adding or mixing audio

• Muting or adjusting original sound

• Trimming or cutting clips

• Adding text overlays, effects, or transitions

Any required edits must be done externally before upload.

1. Uploading Professionally Edited Videos

If your video is already edited and finalised:

1. Go to the video upload area in Properti.

2. Select Manual Upload.

3. Choose your video file and add it to your campaign or schedule.

Use Canva for Editing (Recommended)

With Properti’s Canva App integration, you can:

• Add music

• Mute or adjust audio

• Trim and cut clips

• Add captions, overlays, and text

• Export vertical versions for Reels and Stories

After editing, download the final version and upload it manually into Properti.

Video Requirements, Time Limits, and Best Practices

File Size Limit

• ❗Maximum upload size: 1GB

Instagram Time Limits (Updated)

These limits apply when posting through Properti:

• Reels: up to 15 minutes

• Stories: up to 60 seconds total (Properti publishes as one 60-second story segment)

Recommended Length for Engagement

• ✅ 15 to 60 seconds

• ✅ Shorter videos typically perform better across social platforms

Landscape vs Vertical

• Reels and Stories require vertical (9:16) format

• Landscape videos may not upload or will appear cropped

• Avoid using landscape videos for Reels

Important Notes About Adding Music

If you add music inside Instagram or Facebook, your account will automatically switch to a Creator or Personal account.

This causes:

• Properti connection to break

• Posts to stop publishing

• Reconnection issues with Instagram

To avoid this:
✅ Edit your video externally (e.g., Canva)
✅ Keep your Instagram account set as Business
✅  Upload only fully edited videos to Properti
