Learn how to upload and edit videos for scheduling and posting in Properti, including how to add music or mute original sounds.
Video Editing Features in Properti
Properti does not offer built-in video editing features like adding music, muting original sound, or making other video adjustments. Here’s how you can manage your video content:
1. Uploading Professional Videos
- If you're using a professional video that has already been edited and finalized, you can directly upload it to Properti via manual upload for scheduling and posting.
- Go to your video upload section in Properti.
- Select Manual Upload and choose the video file to add it to your campaign or schedule.
2. Editing Videos Before Uploading
- If you need to edit the video (e.g., add music, mute the sound, or make other adjustments), you will need to use an external video editing tool before uploading it to Properti.

3. Using Instagram/Facebook Music for Reels and Stories
- If you’re posting Instagram Reels or Facebook Stories and want to use the music library available on those platforms, this needs to be done natively within the Instagram or Facebook app.
- Properti does not support adding music from Instagram/Facebook’s native libraries when uploading Reels or Stories. You’ll need to:
- Upload the video to Instagram or Facebook directly via their apps to add music from their platform libraries.
- After adding the music, you can schedule and share it through Properti once the video is finalized on Instagram/Facebook.

Video Limitations and Best Practices
- Video Size Limit: The maximum video file size allowed for upload is 1GB. Ensure your video is within this limit to avoid any upload issues.
- Video Length: While there’s no hard limit on video duration, it is advisable to keep your video between 15-60 seconds. Shorter videos tend to perform better in terms of engagement, especially on social media platforms.
- Landscape-Oriented Videos: If you are trying to post a landscape-oriented video as a Reel on Instagram or Facebook, we recommend avoiding this format. Reels are designed to be viewed in a vertical format, and landscape videos (which have a wider horizontal aspect) may not display correctly on the platform.
If you attempt to post a landscape-oriented video as a Reel, it may not meet the size and format requirements, which is likely the cause of the post not going through. For optimal performance and display, we recommend ensuring your videos are in the vertical aspect ratio for Reels.
Tips for Video Editing and Uploading
- Use Canva for Easy Editing: Canva is a user-friendly tool that allows you to make quick edits like adding music or captions to your videos before uploading them to Properti.
- Plan Your Content: If you plan to use platform-specific music (like Instagram's music selection), it's best to edit and post the video directly on the platform first, then schedule it via Properti.
- Double-Check Audio: Ensure the audio levels are properly adjusted in your video before uploading, especially if you're muting original sounds or adding new background music.
