What’s happening?
Here’s the most common cause:
Properti successfully publishes your post to Facebook
Facebook incorrectly returns an error response, even though the post has already been published
The system interprets this as a failed post
It automatically retries the post to ensure nothing is missed
This can sometimes result in duplicate posts appearing on your page
Why this happens
This is caused by inconsistent responses from Facebook’s system. In rare cases, Facebook reports a failure even when the post has already been successfully published.
What we’ve done to fix it
We’ve improved how Properti handles these responses by:
Identifying this specific Facebook error behaviour
Preventing unnecessary retry attempts when the post has already been successfully published
Reducing the likelihood of duplicate posts occurring
What you should do
If you notice duplicate posts:
Check if the automation was only triggered once (it usually is)
You can safely remove the duplicate post directly on Facebook if needed
If it continues to happen frequently, please contact support so we can investigate
Summary
This issue is caused by Facebook incorrectly reporting a failed post, which can lead to retries and duplicate posts. We’ve implemented improvements to reduce the chance of this happening again.
