Duplicate Facebook Posts from Automations

In some cases, you may notice duplicate Facebook posts created from a single automation in Properti.AI. This can happen due to how Facebook responds after a post is published, and does not mean the automation has run multiple times.

What’s happening?

Here’s the most common cause:

  • Properti successfully publishes your post to Facebook

  • Facebook incorrectly returns an error response, even though the post has already been published

  • The system interprets this as a failed post

  • It automatically retries the post to ensure nothing is missed

  • This can sometimes result in duplicate posts appearing on your page

Why this happens

This is caused by inconsistent responses from Facebook’s system. In rare cases, Facebook reports a failure even when the post has already been successfully published.

What we’ve done to fix it

We’ve improved how Properti handles these responses by:

  • Identifying this specific Facebook error behaviour

  • Preventing unnecessary retry attempts when the post has already been successfully published

  • Reducing the likelihood of duplicate posts occurring

What you should do

If you notice duplicate posts:

  • Check if the automation was only triggered once (it usually is)

  • You can safely remove the duplicate post directly on Facebook if needed

  • If it continues to happen frequently, please contact support so we can investigate

Summary

This issue is caused by Facebook incorrectly reporting a failed post, which can lead to retries and duplicate posts. We’ve implemented improvements to reduce the chance of this happening again.
