A billing account needs a default payment method before a campaign invoiced to it can be published. You can build the campaign and save it as a draft before that.
Billing Types
Office Billing
Campaign charges are billed to the office account.
Agent Billing
Campaign charges are billed directly to an individual agent.
If an office wants agents to manage and pay for their own campaigns separately, each agent requires their own billing account.
Creating a Billing Account
To create a billing account:
Open your account menu in the sidebar and choose Account.
Open the Personal billing tab.
Click Set up a personal billing account.
Continue to Stripe and add your card.
Note for admins: Your personal billing account only pays campaigns invoiced to you. It doesn't pay the workspace subscription. Use the Workspace billing button on the same tab for that.
Important
Each agent who will pay for campaigns individually requires their own billing account
A payment method must be attached before the account can be used for campaign publishing
Payment methods displayed during campaign setup are pulled from existing billing accounts
No billing account or payment method yet? You can still build the campaign and save it as a draft. The budget and confirm steps show a No default payment method yet note. When you publish, Properti stops and tells you what's missing, so nothing fails quietly:
Admins are asked to add a payment method and save it as the workspace default.
If your office invoices campaigns to agents, an agent can click Invoice this campaign to me (or just press publish). Properti sets up their own billing account on the spot and asks them to add a payment method.
If the person picked in Invoice to user has no default payment method yet, they need to add one, or you can pick someone else.
Setting Up Agent Billing
After the billing account has been created, additional settings can be configured for agent-paid campaigns.
Allowing admins to create campaigns on behalf of agents
If office administrators need to create campaigns while charging them to the agent's payment method, the agent must enable:
✅ Allow admins to create and invoice campaigns on my behalf
When enabled:
Office admins can create campaigns using the agent's billing account
Charges are still applied directly to the agent's payment method
When disabled:
Admins cannot create campaigns using that billing account
The billing option may not appear during campaign creation
Choosing who gets invoiced during campaign setup
When creating a campaign:
Go to the Budget & Billing section. In Ready to Run campaigns, click Change card.
Under Invoice to user, pick the agent. Leave it on Workspace/Office (default) to bill the office.
Under Payment method, pick their card. Leave it blank to use their default.
Only agents who have set up a personal billing account and ticked Allow admins to create and invoice campaigns on my behalf show up in the Invoice to user list.
Result
Campaign charges are billed directly to the selected agent
Workspace admin invoices will not include those campaigns
Common Confusion
Admin cannot see campaign invoices
Once agent billing is configured:
Admin invoices will not include campaigns billed directly to agents
Campaign invoices are tied to the billing account selected during campaign creation
Wrong person is being charged
If a customer reports incorrect billing, verify:
Whether the campaign was created using Campaign V1, where agent billing is unavailable
Whether the right person was picked under Invoice to user during campaign setup
Admin cannot select an agent's payment method
Check:
The agent has enabled Allow admins to create and invoice campaigns on my behalf
The agent has an active billing account with a payment method attached
